MacKillop Family Services is firmly committed to sustainability.
We hold a duty of care for the future of the children, young people and families we work with and our determination to play our part in contributing to a sustainable and inclusive future directs our Sustainability Strategy.
MacKillop’s Sustainability Strategy outlines our commitment to making a positive impact in four key focus areas:
- Deepening our commitment to Aboriginal self-determination, reconciliation and cultural safety
- Nurturing a diverse, inclusive and culturally safe organisation
- Acting on climate change and reducing our footprint
- Building sustainability into our procurement and financial management
Our Sustainability Strategy aligns with external strategies, UN Sustainability Goals, and the principles outlined in Laudato Si, an encyclical of Pope Francis which focuses on care for the natural environment and all people. A recent Laudate Deum addendum from Pope Francis states that our problems are deeper than environmental concerns; they are social and political, and impact everyone.
By incorporating these frameworks into our strategy, we aim to ensure our actions are globally recognised and contribute to a sustainable future for all.
