Four-year-old Jamie endured neglect like no child ever should. His parents would leave him with various family members for extended periods of time. He spent the first few years of his life in an unsafe home, where he witnessed violence from his father and his mother’s struggle with substance abuse.

MacKillop worker, Angela*, shared how Jamie’s medical care fell through the cracks. He was missing important developmental milestones that other children his age were reaching, such as talking.
