Significant change and loss can be challenging for children, young people, and adults alike. Your gift today will help provide a safe space to give voice to their experiences, help them understand their feelings, and recognise they are not alone.
MacKillop Seasons
Change affects everyone differently.
MacKillop Seasons is a suite of programs and services, adapted to meet the ever-changing needs of children, young people, and adults, to help them respond well to experiences of change, loss and grief including suicide, forced migration, home-based care, pandemics and natural disasters.
MacKillop Seasons programs build knowledge and skills to help people now and for the future by training facilitators who can support their community after a change or loss event, and long-term. There are five core programs:
- Stormbirds - supporting children through natural disasters;
- Seasons for Growth – supporting children and young people through change;
- Seasons for Growth – supporting parents to help their children;
- Seasons for Growth – supporting adults; and
- Seasons for Healing – culturally safe support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait adults experiencing change, loss and grief.
These programs are supported by additional services including disaster recovery support provided directly to communities impacted by natural disaster; our Seasons for Life project, providing free support to secondary school communities across Australia following a suicide or other loss event, and our ongoing support to schools to strengthen the wellbeing and resilience of their students.
Your support will assist in providing these vital programs and services to affected children and families, to help them understand and overcome life-changing experiences.
Each year, MacKillop supports thousands of children, young people, and families to grow and thrive. You can help us care for thousands more.
